Milling accurate angles with a vertical mill
The most accurate way to tilt the head on a "Bridgeport" type mill is to use a 6"x6" sine plate. Place it in the vise or on the table, make sure it is straight. Set it at whatever angle you need and tram the head to it like you would tram it to the table or vise. Other than that, just use sine bar or angle block.
Tramming a Milling Machine: Tools, Indicators, & Tips
Tramming generally refers to alignment along the axes that are designed to move if the head can be swiveled on the mill. Squaring involves taking the mill apart to really get things lined up. It's done once in a blue moon, such as when you first get the mill or if your mill doesn't seem to be cutting accurately even after tramming in.
Checking Basic Mill Setup - FRETS.COM
Vertical milling machines generally have adjustments for tilting the head both side-to-side and front-to-back. Here, the milling head has been left tilted backward at a serious angle: Clearly, there'd be no chance of drilling a vertical hole with the head in that position.

4th- and 5th-Axis Options. The fastest way to increase the productivity of your Haas mill is to add a Haas single or dual-axis rotary product. You can reduce or totally eliminate multiple setups, and easily handle multi-sided parts.
Work Holding Devices Used on Milling Machine
The plain vice is directly bolted on the milling machine table is the most common type of vice used on plain milling operations, which involves heavy cuts, such as in slab milling. Its especially low construction enables the work to remain quite close to the table. This reduces the chance of vibration to a minimum.

Workholding – use of vices | john f's workshop
Use of vices to hold workpieces. Apart from using clamps the most common way of holding a workpiece is by using a vice. In most cases the vice is bolted to the milling table. This is probably the most common set-up for either vertical or horizontal milling. It is usually faster to set-up a workpiece for machining using a vice than using clamps.

How to use a Milling Machine - Instructions
To assemble for machining, first put a casting against the front jaw and determine the correct vertical position. Then position the struts, which are held up by spacer blocks. Snug the vise, but don't tighten it. If a strut is loose, fill the gap between it and the back jaw with a feeler gauge. Then tighten the vise.
