Having an odd issue, strings feel like they are grinding ...
It feels like the string is grinding on the frets. It even makes a scratchy sound when I apply vibrato. I feel resistance there. I put brand new strings on and it did it again immediately. I bought some fret erasers and tried buffing the higher frets, even though the guitar is still pretty new, but that hasn't helped.
Guitar Anatomy Guide - Every Part of the Guitar Explained
The number of frets varies, but most guitars have between 19 and 24 frets. Dec-12-2011, 4:04am. My '88 Gibson F5L has severely pitted frets, the first 10 frets anyway, and I'm faced with re-fretting it soon. What causes Fret Buzz? ... and How to Fix it!
The guitar string is being fretted at the first fret (by an invisible finger). Uh oh. Fret #2 is taller than Fret #1, which results in there not being enough space between the top of Fret #2 and the bottom of the guitar string. That means the guitar string will rattle/buzz against Fret #2 every time the guitar is fretted and played at Fret #1.
Gibson "Nibs": Were they on all Gibson guitars? | The Gear ...
Jan 18, 2014. #7. sleep said: the "nibs" are where the neck binding goes over the fret edges instead of the fret edge protruding over the binding. They have been useful for determining if a Gibson has been refretted as the nibs are rarely kept, and up until this year, one more giveaway as to if the guitar is a fake.

My guitar has a very nice straight neck and I don't see any low or high frets. My relief is about 0.015 and my action is about 2 mm at the low E and 1.7 mm at the high E. I play mostly blues and I do dig into the strings but occationally I like to play some clean passages that use that string.

Take the strings off of your acoustic guitar and rest it on a flat surface. Grab the center of your guitar's saddle with a pair of pliers and pull straight up off of the guitar body.
